Why did you choose CNU? “I absolutely loved the campus, the feel, the look, the people, the atmosphere, the food, and the facilities; as soon as I stepped on campus I felt welcome. My coaches and future teammates have helped me through every step in this process and have been so encouraging and supportive, their enthusiasm is definitely what sealed the deal for me. I have seen several different schools, but none of their facilities and buildings compare to CNU’s. I know that I will be able to excel in a small, close-knit school community like CNU and I can’t wait to get there in the fall!”
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “My junior season of lacrosse was definitely full of success. I had decided to drop basketball in the winter in order to prepare for the upcoming season in the spring; I trained for the entire winter season.
“There were many opportunities such as the state tournament and trying out for the national team that I was unable to attend because I traveled to Spain in late May, though my team had been to the state tournament for the 2 years leading up to my junior year. Our team did very well in our regular season, despite a few hard losses against Bishop Sullivan and Trinity Episcopal. We grew as a team and ended the season with another tournament championship.
“Ever since 8th grade I have had to travel to Williamsburg, Richmond, and VA beach to be able to play the sport I love, so being able to say that Christchurch School is starting their first season of a brand new lacrosse team this year is amazing. I cannot wait to see our team develop and grow as we plan to make a positive name for ourselves in the lacrosse community. We have several experienced freshman, a few sophomores and juniors, and a handful of pretty well experienced seniors. I know this will be a developing year but I know that a lot of the girls, including myself have been working every day with our new coach, who is fresh out of college, (she played women’s lacrosse at Denison). I am thankful to be able to play for my school for the first time in almost 4 years!”
Thank You: “I would like to thank my parents for all of the money and time spent on my lacrosse career and me over the past 9 years. Whether it was driving to various different states in the wee hours of the night, buying all of the necessary and not so necessary equipment, and helping me to pursue my dream of playing lacrosse at the college level.
“I would also like to thank Sue Murphy, from Storm Lacrosse in Richmond, who gave me the advice, encouragement, honesty, and knowledge that I needed to grow even more as a player and person. I also want to thank Hannah Slough and Sam Puglisi, (future teammates at CNU), who also helped me every step of the way, whether it was talking on the phone with me after a tough game or helping me during a game. Kelly McQuade was also a huge help and driving force in my play and I am very thankful to have had her for the past couple season with storm.
“I could not have done this all without my very first coach, Coach Morgan, who introduced me to lacrosse and who has been one of the biggest positive roles in my life as a student-athlete.”
