MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The following are boys’ and girls’ players who shined Tuesday and Wednesday at the inaugural Warrior National Prospect Invite at River City SportsPlex (by Legacy Global).

Joe Peterson, Michael Venezia
Joe Peterson (Monte Vista-CA), Michael Venezia (Massapequa-NY)

Michael Venezia, Massapequa (NY) 2018 Goalie – Venezia has the tools to be a division 1 goalie. The rising junior makes the big saves and has no problems with moving the ball up the field on the clear. One of his goals from the two days at the WarriorNPI was to be more talkative and vocal as a goalie and he displayed that well. His defenders went to battle for him even after knowing him for a short time. Venezia was one of the top picks for the MVP of the WarriorNPI All-Star game.

Cameron MacDonald, St. Andrews College (Ontario, Canada), 2019 Attack/Midfield – The lefty attackman/middie displayed great field vision and lax I.Q. during the two day event. MacDonald hustles on every play as a two-way middie. Love his energy. He makes good decisions when he has the ball in his stick, no rushed passes. MacDonald has some great dodges as well.

Joe Peterson, Monte Vista (CA) 2018, Midfield – Peterson has a tremendous shot on cage. He also has great field vision and lax I.Q. Love his motor and athleticism as a bigger and stronger midfielder. The rising junior from Cali has the game to play at a high division I program.

Zach Snider, St. Josephs Prep (PA) 2018 LSM – Snider is the complete package with the longpole! The way he creates turnovers, gets to the GB’s and moves the ball up the field are going to help him earn his way on a top Division I programs roster. Snider has some vicious checks and doesn’t always rely on the slap check. Look for the Philly native to have a big junior year for St. Joe’s Prep!

Erik Vallow, Lincoln Way-West (II) 2018, FOGO – Vallow has quick hands and won some great face-offs in the WarriorNPI All-Star game. Vallow works at his craft and does a great job of getting the groundball after the win or pushing it out to his wing guys. Keep an eye out for where this kid goes. Vallow is going to be a steal for whoever gets him.

John Armistead, Bellarmine Prep (CA) 2018, Midfield – Armistead is a tough kid. He was consistently making his shots and putting the ball in the net during the two-day event despite needing shoulder surgery later in the week. The Cali rising junior is quick from X and from up top of the restraining line. He isn’t a selfish player.

Matt Hughes, Berks Catholic (PA) 2018, Defense – Hughes is a great athlete. The Pennsylvania native has a great motor up the field on a clear. He has solid footwork and delivers some good checks. He positions himself well with the player he is guarding and doesn’t over commit and get burned. Love his size and has a good Lax I.Q.

Josh Gale, Gonzaga HS (DC) 2018 Goalie – Gale made some great saves in the WarriorNPI All-Star game. The rising junior goalie for Gonzaga shows good footwork around the grease. He is alert and head is on a swivel. Gale does a good job guiding his defenders and will be patient to make sure the clear up field is complete.

Felix Knorr, Howard HS (MD) 2018, FOGO – Knorr displayed quick hands and a quick burst of speed down field after gaining the win off the face! Knorr hustles off the field to allow the offensive middies on. Love the way Knorr doesn’t let a lost faceoff get to him. He doesn’t shy away from going against the other teams best fogo! Knorr should have a big year for coach Crieghton at Howard in 2017 after being finalists in the Maryland state championship game.

Cole Manos, Calverton School (MD) 2019, Attack – Manos is scary good when he gets the ball. His dodges to the cage are perfect and he has a monster shot on cage. He can shot it high to low or uppercut. Manos plays with a bit of a workers man attitude. He gets right to work and wants to move the ball and make sure every possession comes away with a score.

Girls from Warrior NPI who shined:

Julianna Golden, Skylar Minden
Julianna Golden (Allentown-NJ), Skylar Minden (Bishop Gorman-NV)

Skylar Minden, Bishop Gorman (NV) 2018 Attack- Minden played great throughout the two-day event from a more non-traditonal lax region. Making smart decisions with the ball and not being selfish. Loved her hustle and shots on cage.

Julianna Golden, Allentown HS (NJ) 2018, Attack/Midfield – Golden is an athletic kid with a ton of pop in her step. The rising junior is a fun player watch play the game as she dodges her way to the goal and she has a great Lax I.Q.

Celia Luling, Shawnee HS (NJ) 2019, Attack – Celia played very well at the WarriorNPI. I like her determination to get better on every play. She has a ton of potential in the game and should continue to get better throughout her HS career.

Sophia Douglas, Cosby HS (VA) 2018 Goalie – Sophia made some beautiful saves in one of the games on Tuesday to kickoff the WarriorNPI. Being a goalie in this event is a tough task with so many great shooters that were nominated and Douglas wasn’t intimidated. Even when she did let in a goal she would keep her head up and move on.

Jordan Taylor, Massapequa HS (NY) 2018 Attack – Loved the way this kid played both days at the WarriorNPI. Taylor does a great job dodging to the goal and she has a good shot. She can shoot with both hands and is very quick.
